Questions
& Answers
Q: When
are services held?
A: Services are held at
8:30 and 11:00 am Sunday. Both
services are casual with a mix of contemporary and
traditional worship styles. Pre-service singing
begins about 5 minutes before the start of service. The songs are contemporary Christian favorites with a
blend of traditional and are led by Minister of Music Tom
Reigel, our praise team singers and our Choir. Both 8:30 and 11:00 services offers a variety of
interactive worship elements, such as reciting a creed, joining in unison
prayer, or reading psalms or litanies responsively.
During the 8:30 and 11:00 services a nursery is provided. Also during the 8:30
and 11:00 services a special children's
worship is available for children age 3 - 3rd grade. For
more information on our worship services, visit the worship
page.
Q: How
formal do people dress for worship at OUMC?
A: Our concern is that you feel
comfortable when you worship with us. At all three services you will find blue jeans to suits.
Q: Are
most people at OUMC traditional Methodist?
A: OUMC is blessed to have a
congregation that comes from a wide, rich variety of religious backgrounds.
Traditional Methodist, Baptist, Catholic, and Church of Christ are among some of
the backgrounds brought into the congregation. This variety brings rich
discussion in small group classes.
Q: What
do Methodist believe?
A: We practice two of the sacraments at OUMC, Communion
and Baptism. Communion is held usually on the first Sunday of every month. We
practice infant Baptism. If an older Child or Adult has not been baptized they
have the option of sprinkling, pouring, or immersion. For more information
