Trustee Work Day will be held this Saturday, May
17 from 1 - 6 p.m. Tasks will include: Replace floor tiles,
buff floors, shampoo rugs, repair walls, install power strips, patch
walls, repair coat racks, replace ceiling tiles, replace faucet, paint,
wash windows, pickup rocks, change filters, scrub walls, fix dragging
door, install metal shelf, cutting bricks (masonry saw needed), and more!
In appreciation a BBQ dinner will be open to all workers at 6
p.m.
A Chrysalis
Flight is planned for July 9 - 12, 2008 at King’s Way United
Methodist Church in Springfield. Chrysalis is the teen version of
The Walk to Emmaus and is targeted at those who have completed their
freshman year of high school through the summer after their senior year.

Did you know that almost one out of every three
households in America is led by a single mom? And 95% of those
single moms are not part of a church family? Help us make a
difference as we launch our Caring People ministry to single moms in our
area. Give the church office the names of single moms you know along
with their phone numbers. Help us reach out!
Christian County Jail will be doing a training
for ministry volunteers. If you are interested in participating in

On Sunday, June 22 we will have a Farewell Potluck
Lunch for Pastor Rod & Tricia. This Sunday only, we will have a
single worship celebration at 10:30 a.m. Sunday school will precede
it from 9 - 10 a.m. Following this special service, there will be a
potluck dinner for everyone to enjoy. Note:
June 22 will be Pastor Rod’s last day preaching. The Bishop has
requested that all the new pastors begin on June 29!

The Christian County Family Violence Shelter is
in need of paper products such as toilet paper, napkins, paper plates,
cups and paper towels.

Myanmar Disaster Relief
UMCOR is partnering with Church World Service, the Methodist Church in
Lower Myanmar and Action by Churches Together to provide relief and
support for those struggling in the aftermath of the cyclone. Please

Help Needed at Annual Conference – 2 Opportunities
Available!
Annual Conference is right around the corner and we are
putting the finishing touches on the Child Care Program, which will be
held at the St. Paul United Methodist Church, located a few blocks
from the Conference site. We are in need of people who meet the
following criteria to work in the Child Care Program during Conference:
1. 18 years or older
2. Safe Sanctuary trained or willing to do the
training immediately
3. Live in the Springfield area or will be in town
for the conference
4. Some child care experience is preferred

We will be providing care from Friday morning through Monday at session's
end, June 6 - 9th. The number of hours someone is scheduled to work
will be matched up with the individual's availability. Pay is
$6.50/hour.

Annual Conference Session and we need your help! The photography
“studio” will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and
Sunday, June 6 - 8. If you would be willing to volunteer for one or
