Rod Kelley
Rev.
James R. “Rod” Kelley has been in ministry for more than 25 years.
Born 29 may 1946 to James McKinley and Evelyn (Davis) Kelley.
After his birth in Northern Louisiana, his family moved to Odessa Texas
and it was there he received his primary and secondary education.
Upon graduation from Odessa High School, Rod attended Odessa Junior
College before completing an undergraduate degree with majors in English and
Religion with a minor in New Testament and Classical Greek.
May of 1969, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Hardin-Simmons
University. His professional
education was initially completed at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in
North Kansas City with a Master of Divinity Degree in 1972.
Additional work was also done at
St. Paul
’s Seminary,
Kansas City
in 1977..
He also received his Master of Science Degree in Human Resource
Management from Salve Regina University in 1993.
May
of 1977, the Missouri West Conference of the U.M.C. accepted Rev. Kelley’s
ordination in the Southern Baptist Church as Deacon’s orders and he was
admitted to probationary membership in Missouri West Conference.
In 1979, while serving Battlefield U.M.C. in Battlefield, MO, Rev. Kelley
was ordained Elder in full connection with the Missouri West Conference of the
United Methodist Church. December of
1979 in the sanctuary of Battlefield U.M.C., Pastor Kelley was commissioned a
Lieutenant Junior Grade in the U.S. Navy Chaplains Corps.
On Easter Sunday of 1980, he began the 8 week USN Chaplains Basic Course.
He served a full career as a USN Chaplain in assignments both at home and
abroad. His military decorations and
awards include: Navy Commendation
Medal (3 awards), Meritorious Unit Commendation, National Defense Medal, Sea
Service Deployment Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (2 awards).
In 1998, Chaplain Kelley took early retirement and returned to become
Pastor Kelley at Ozark U.M.C. and has continued to serve our Lord in this place
since that time. He is married to
Patricia (nee Clevenger) Kelley. They
have four children, 5 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Associate Pastor Regina Bohannon
Associate Pastor Regina Bohannon first came to OUMC in 1994 as a
member of the congregation. After entering the ministry candidacy
program and completing studies to become licensed as a Local Pastor, she began
serving the Ozark church under appointment in 2001.
Regina is a Registered Nurse and holds an Associate of Science in Nursing from
SMSU, and a Bachelor of Business Administration Management from Evangel
University. She has completed 3 1/2 years of the required 5-year Course
of Study at St. Paul Theological Seminary in Kansas City.
Regina grew up in rural Webster County Missouri and
attended Niangua School. She now lives in Sparta with her husband, Dan. They
have two grown sons. Their older son Jason is an officer with the
Springfield Police Department and is married to Tonya. Brent is a
computer programmer for IHS in Springfield. Brent and Karen have 2 sons
and 1 daughter. Dan and Regina especially enjoy being Pop and
GiGi to grandchildren, Logan, Nathan and Alyssa.
